Anchors Away…

Commissioning week in Annapolis starts on Friday 5/20…The day was great so we headed down to see the city before graduation madness was in full spectacle…

After going through the security check to get into Naval Academy….all Koko wanted to do is get going…DSCF3731

We looked around the place and there was a lot of activity going on in preparation of graduation, sadly that put much of what we came for was temporarily out-of-bounds to the general public as a consequence.

Back into the city for lunch…

Chick & Ruths Delly had the most amazing crab cakes we’d ever eaten…sadly you’re going to have to take our word for it…as we ate them down at the dingy dock without taking a photo…I had no recollection that “Kunta Kinte” (from Roots by   Alex Haley) came ashore in this city. On the waterfront they have erected bronze statues of Alex reading the story to children.

Before we left I had to walk the docks…while Barb and the princess waited…

I leave you with the “Bull” an the “Bear” built for match racing back in the day…or so the story goes….DSCF3755
