Beantown…

…Athens of America, Cradle of Modern America…or so are the synonyms for Boston and the area that extends from city center.

I’ve been here many times on business, much fewer for pleasure. But this is the *last* hard date in our trip. It’s one of my personal favorite cities. Not only for the history but something deeper. It embodies most of the traits that distinguish what we call American from most other countries.

As with all things American, sure there are parts that we revile, but far more characteristics that we hold and cherish as “Essential American” are found in this city. In my myopic view no other location symbolizes or embraces that essence. From the “Real” Tea Party (As opposed to the vagrants that currently co-op the term) to Paul Revere. I am moved by the history this city reveals at every corner.

From Boston Commons to Beacon Hill This place is what America was founded upon.

After wandering around living history most of the day…It’s time for dinner…in the North End…of course

Naturally Italian…How about Lobster Truffle oil risotto with a fine Montepulciano?  Yeah, that’s what I thought…
