You can’t change the weather…

…So you change your course…

As we had originally charted our course east to New Brunswick, it was pretty direct. Using historical weather averages trying to keep us around the freezing mark at night. Well, this is not an average year. We just got done doing the route’s semi-final gut check.

Given our departure date, planned stops and examining the weather from Idaho through the eastern edge of Ohio it became abundantly clear that we would be following snow flurries and freezing temperatures for at least three possibly four days. Not optimal for reliable driving much less for keeping pace. So, we made a reasonable choice for a more southern route.

  1. Portland, OR
  2. Redding. CA
  3. Bakersfield, CA
  4. Flagstaff, AZ
  5. Santa Rosa, NM
  6. Oklahoma City, OK
  7. St. Louis, MO
  8. Columbus, OH
  9. Wilkes-Barre, PA
  10. Portland, ME
  11. Fredericton NB, CA

This route takes the pucker level down for the rest of the family. This is a very good thing!
